Walking Football

Walking Football sessions run every Monday evening from 5:30-6:30pm on the front 3G artificial pitch.

Walking Football, is a slower-paced version of football, aimed at over 50s, individuals coming back from injury and those with lack of mobility. Walking Football is designed to help people keep an active lifestyle despite their age, health, disability or injury. There are plenty of breaks for stretching and water and opportunities to be involved in occasional matches and social activities.

So, how does Walking Football work?

  • It’s non-contact and anyone that sprints, runs or jogs while the ball is in play will be penalised with a free-kick awarded to the other team.

  • The game relies less on physical attributes and instead upon technical ones, such as accurate passing and good positional play.

Simply playing 1 hour a week, for 3 months, enables players to cover 30 miles and burn 4,200 calories.
